Review: Web Sites We Like
THE FIFTH DIMENSION

go to The Fifth Dimension

What do you offer to a web presence that has everything? A recommendation! This site doesn't brag when listing its mind-boggling number of pages, pictures and sounds—it states the simple, colossal truth.

You could spend entire days here, admiring the polish and variety, and not see everything. The presentation is inventive, too: actual black and white TV screen shots of Rod Serling and Mike Wallace add new life to the 1959 thrust-and-parry interview that so many Twilight Zone sites have posted.

Webmaster Matthew S. Cregg left no stone unturned and no detail unremarked. We love the Bloopers and Oddities pages, but we're especially grateful for the sections devoted to Serling's life and Twilight Zone awards and—wow!—every opening and closing monologue. That is thoroughness defined! Any list we provide here is inadequate to express the care and detail (not to mention the hours, the days, good God the months and years!) invested in this comprehensive tribute.

Rod would likely appreciate The Fifth Dimension's playful mix of reverence and criticism. Consider the In-Jokes page, the Hall of Shame, as well as a downloadable version of the original series' title tytpeface (we've used it for various titles right here, most notably on our home page).

To find the treats, scroll down both the main window and the table of contents on the home page.  But don't stop there. There's so much to see and hear in this Twilight Zone that you might never leave!

Matthew Cregg is a college student majoring in computer science, who one day might get paid for what he does. In his down time he listens to classic rock constantly.
