MEET ROD SERLING VIDEO COLLECTION (1 hour) YOUTUBE ACCESS FREE TO ALL MEMBERS
The Rod Serling Memorial Foundation was DIRECTLY involved in some of the videos on this DVD. And none of this material is available anywhere else, at any price. In Rod Serling's memory, we at the Foundation encourage you to share this video with others. Rod died too soon; help keep him alive and in the public consciousness!
Tribute > Promo (1985, 10 minutes) This tribute to Rod Serling morphs into a promo of the TV series "The New Twilight Zone" apparently designed to entice potential sponsors. The biographical sections drew upon material provided by the Foundation.
Genesee Beer Commercial (circa 1970, 30 seconds)
Famous Writers School Infomercial (circa 1965, 5 minutes) - Rod hosts one of TV's first infomercials. This plug for the Famous Writer's School in Bridgeport Connecticut, which Rod helped found, has a sincerity that is emblematic of those (relatively) innocent times. As with the kinescopes of Rod's work during the Golden Age of TV, the accompanying atmosphere is a fascinating time capsule.
The Foundation itself produced "Day of a Playwright" (1988) and released it in conjunction with the opening of a permanent display of Rod Serling historical materials at the Forum Theater in Binghamton, NY. Helen Foley, Rod's middle school teacher and lead character in the Twilight Zone episode "Nightmare as a Child," narrates the video.

Introduction to Requiem (1988, 8 minutes) Actors Keenan Wynn and Jack Palance, producer Martin Manulus, and director Ralph Nelson discuss production of the 1957 Playhouse 90 episode "Requiem for a Heavyweight," which was Ed Wynn's first dramatic role. In a special treat, four-episode Twilight Zone star Jack Klugman introduces 1958 footage of Rod Serling accepting his Emmy award for the Requiem script. The episode itself is commercially available.

Fractured Flickers appearance (1963, 3.5 minutes)
This show stripped the soundtracks from old movie footage and substituted their own dialog. Rod's guest appearance appears to be scripted, but it is apropos and funnier than the show itself...

The Twilight Zone Soliloquies of Rod Serling (42:04)
A mash-up of Rod Serling's introductions and summations from The Twilight Zone's 1959-65 original run. Originally presented at the Rod Serling Conference at Ithaca College in 2009, to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Twilight Zone premiere.

Rod Serling Teaches Writing (1:08:32)
A mash-up of interviews and video of Rod Serling teaching writing, of people who knew and worked with him, and examples of his writing from Twilight Zone, The Loner, Night Gallery, and live "Golden Age" TV. Originally presented at the 2008 Rod Serling Conference at Ithaca College.

A list of YouTube videos about Rod Serling but not created by the Foundation.
For example, one video is an interview of Rod by SF writer James Gunn.
