Text of a press release...

LOS ANGELES—(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE) via NewsEdge Corporation—In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the premiere of one of America's most enduring and endearing television series, "The Twilight Zone Companion"—a revealing exploration of Rod Serling's classic show—is being reissued by its publisher, Silman-James Press (Los Angeles).

In the best-selling paperback, originally published in 1982, author Marc Scott Zicree details the behind-the-scenes production of each of "The Twilight Zone's" 156 episodes, the first of which debuted on the CBS Television Network on Oct. 2, 1959. Zicree is now a successful television writer/producer.

"We look upon this anniversary as a landmark occasion because of the continuing popularity of the show and its incredible longevity on the air, " said Gwen Feldman of Silman-James Press. "The book has been a solid seller since we published the second edition in 1992, and we feel the show's 40th anniversary is a wonderful opportunity to generate new interest in a truly captivating subject," she said.

The show is currently televised by the Sci-Fi Channel, making it the longest running series of the science-fiction genre and perhaps any broadcasting category.

The second edition paperback is available in bookstores nationwide, with total of more than 400,000 copies of the book already having been sold.

Silman-James has arranged events throughout the month of October that include book signings at Borders Books and Music in Pasadena Oct. 2 at 4 p.m.; Barnes and Noble in Marina del Rey on Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m.; The Collector's Guide to the Galaxy in the Fallbrook Mall in West Hills Oct. 23 at 3 p.m.; Golden Apple Bookstore in Hollywood Oct. 29 from 7 to 9 p.m.; and a special 40th anniversary event at the Hollywood Entertainment Museum in Hollywood Oct. 30 at 2 p.m.
