Alexis Drozdowski, the 2024 recipient of the Rod Serling Memorial Foundation Scholarship, discovered her passion for music while singing and playing violin in third grade. She added trumpet in the fourth grade.

She’s the secretary of Tri-M Music Honor Society, the only national honor society for student musicians, and a member of the National Honor Society. Outside of school, she’s in Girl Scouts, teaches gymnastics, and works as a camp counselor at a Girl Scout camp.

Alexis is grateful for the support she received at BHS. “The arts programs at Binghamton High School have allowed me to continue my growing passion for music and theater. The department and people in it are always so welcoming [that] it feels like a second home.”

While performing music, Alexis also discovered an interest in Technical Theater, the art of supporting actors with the Sound, Lighting, Scenery, Costumes, Props, and other background activities that are so crucial to putting on a show.

Alexis will attend Keuka College in Keuka Park, New York, studying American Sign Language-English Interpreting. She’ll continue her love for music on her own, as they do not have a music program, and will continue her love for tech theater by joining the Theater Club.
