Rod Serling will always be a slightly sinister and sardonic guide to the wonderful and terrifying. His lopsided smile convinced me to follow him again and again into The Twilight Zone. He taught me to try to be a better person. He was a formative influence on my adult politics and he taught me about the importance of kindness and respect for each other. And as if that wasn’t enough for one man he was possibly the coolest man on TV ever.
