James Kenty never rubbed shoulders with Rod Serling, but he went to school in Binghamton and came close enough to him several times to remember well…

I didn’t quite meet Rod Serling, but our paths intersected a few times:

1967: at the Syracuse airport. I was in line at the ticket counter and spotted Rod in line ahead of me. We then were on the same flight to Chicago. I heard him chatting with other passengers.

1974: Fifth Avenue in New York City. I spotted Rod walking with his wife, as I was on my way to a library. He was well tanned and wore a double-breasted navy blazer.

1964: I was stationed at Fort Bragg NC when Rod made his last parachute jump there.

Another coincidences: I attended the same school in Binghamton that Rod did, not at the same time. And I lived a few blocks from the street that he grew up on.
