American Morning is a powerful and award-winning new film dealing with the epidemic of mass shootings in the United States. Directed by Robbie Bryan (“The Eyes”) and written, produced, and starring RSMF member Stephen Dexter (“Evil”, “Dr. Death”) alongside Emmy-winner Richard Schiff (“The West Wing”, “The Good Doctor”), “American Morning” is the story of Connor Mathis, a former music teacher, who after surviving a deadly mass shooting at his elementary school, resorts to desperate measures to assuage his guilt and ignite change. This past year it has been a huge hit at both US and international film festivals. After having its world premiere in September at the legendary Chinese Theater in Hollywood as part of the Dances With Films Festival, it has gone on to compete at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, New York Shorts International Film Festival, and the Oldenburg Film Festival in Germany where it was nominated for the ‘Spirit Of Cinema Award’ and won ‘Special Mention’ for Best Dramatic Short, a citation that has never been given to any film in the history of the Oldenburg FF. In February 2022, it will screen in competition at the Santa Fe Film Festival.
